Family Bridges is currently holding six monthly family support meetings. The six support meeting sites are as follows:
Springfield - Christ Episcopal Church in Springfield
(1st Tuesday of the month)
Christian County - Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa
(4th Tuesday of the month)
Stone/Taney - 1st Presbyterian Church Branson
(3rd Monday of the month)
Barry/Lawrence County - Monett Elementary School
(2nd Thursday of the month)
Republic - Calvary Baptist Church
(2nd Tuesday of the month)
Seligman - Baptist church.
(3rd Thursday of the month)
Moms and Grandmoms - Meet weekly...call for additional information.
Each of our meetings has a "personality" of its own, because they are "owned" by the families living within that community. Therefore, the culture of that particular community defines the direction of each meeting.
Each monthly meeting includes an educational component. A speaker gives a brief presentation. Co-facilators lead the group in discussion of various topics of interest to families and then a time of networking and support. Some meetings include a meal while others have chosen to have light snacks. With advance notice, we attempt to meet the needs of those needing an interpreter.
Childcare is available at all locations for children two and under upon a three day in advance request. Targeted Support/ one on ones are available upon a three day in advance request. Family Bridges offers a yearly "sib stop" event.This is a facilated group designed to educate, encourage and support youth who have siblings diagnosed with various types of disabilities.
